Frequently Asked Questions
What if anything, should I do to prepare for my spray tan?
Exfoliate 24 hours prior to your spray tan with a basic loofah or wash rag. Also, stay away from any heavy exfoliation oils.

Shaving should be done 12-24 hours before your spray tan. Streaks may be an issue in your final tan if you shave too close to your appointment due to the wax from the shaving bar. This also allows time for the pores to close properly, if the don’t , excess spray tan can lodge in those pores and may cause the tan to appear spotty.

Manicures, pedicures, and waxing should al be done prior to your spray tan. Make sure to have loose fitting clothes that fully cover your body for after your tan to avoid skin to skin contact.
How long will my spray tan last?
The length of your spray tan will depend on the maintenance afterwards. Most people notice their tan begin to fade after about 4-7 days. Moisturizing and staying hydrated are two important factors that help maintain color. Refrain from showering in hot water to prolong your tan as well.
How often can I get a spray tan?
I recommend waiting until you have completely exfoliated any previous spray tans or self tanner off. This will ensure a smooth application and no dark spots.
How do I know which spray tan “color” to choose?
I will help you decide on the best solution an/or tone for you the day of your spray tan. Based on the solution used, we will give you a timeline of when to rinse of.
How long after my spray tan can I rinse off?
Your rinse time will depend on the solution we use. Please follow my directions given to you at the time of your spray tan to achieve your optimal tan. Rinsing too soon may cause the tan to appear lighter than intended. Rinsing too late may cause the tan to look orange or unnatural.
Time to rinse, what do I do?
Absolutely NO soap! A really slow rinse with Luke-warm water is best. Only use your hands to remove the bronzer/solution, and focus your attention to your legs, behind your arms, in your ears, and around your nose, etc. The #1 cause for streaks is that the bronzer.solution was not rinsed off properly and can stain the skin for a few days.
What do I do if I have streaks after showering?
Hop back in the shower and do another rinse. If that doesn’t help, rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab will help to remove the streak. Keep in mind that it will also remove the tan in the area you apply it to. I do not reccomend respirating if this occurs.
How do I remove solution on the palms of my hands and/or bottom of my feet?
Wipe the areas you don’t wish to have solution with alcohol pads. The alcohol will help to remove the solution.
When can I apply lotion?
Wait at least 12 hours AFTER your initial rinse before applying any kind of lotion. CereVe is a recommended brand of lotion to moisturize and extend the life of your spray tan. Moisturizing is the key to prolonging your spray tan! Moisturizing twice daily will give you the best results. It is also important to stay hydrated and drink lots of water throughout the day,
My tan isn’t dark enough after I rinsed, what do I do?
Wait 24 hours for your spray tan to fully develop after rinsing. If it is still not dark enough, let me know and we can try a different solution at your next appointment.
My tan is too dark, what do I do?
Try rinsing again, soak in a bath tub, or sit in a sauna/jacuzzi. These methods will remove some of the bronzer and lighten the color.
How long after my initial rinse can I take a full shower (I.e. wash hair, use soap, etc.)?
Wait 24 hours. For best results, use soap only where necessary to avoid depleting the color. Also, try and minimize scrubbing and shaving as those are forms of exfoliation and they can strip away the tan.
Can I still tan outside?
Yes! The most important thing to remember is that the solution does not contain any UV protection/sunscreen. I recommend using a water based SPF over your spray tan. You will still be able to develop a tan naturally in the sun while keeping your skin protected.
My skin is peeling from a sunburn, can I still get a spray tan?
NO! I do not advise having a spray tan over peeling skin. The full peel and heal process can take anywhere between 3-6 weeks. You will have to reschedule your appointment if peeling occurs.
Will jacuzzis, pools, or saunas remove my tan?
Yes, it will remove the majority of it and/or lighten it. Seawater, chlorine, and hot tubs can accelerate the fading of the tan. I recommend wearing waterproof sunscreen to help repel the water.
What do I wear during my tanning session?
Ladies, I will have disposable thong underwear for those that want it. You may also tan nude, in a swim suite, underwear and a bra, etc. Tan in whatever makes you feel the most comfortable! If you are currently breastfeeding please be sure to wear a full coverage bra during your session. This will ensure no bronzer/solution gets on the baby.

Gentlemen, please wear a pair of boxer briefs. They can be long or short, as long as they cover your crotch!

Please keep in mind that the cosmetic bronzer may get on whatever you choose to wear during your session. I recommend wearing items you don’t mind getting dirty! In most cases the cosmetic bronzer comes off in the washer.
